• CA SPEAK: Jodi Kantor

How to Start: Finding Your Life's Work When Everything Feels Uncertain
  • Jodi KantorCA is thrilled to welcome Jodi Kantor, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter for The New York Times and best-selling author.

Kantor's reporting has changed laws, company policies, and cultural norms. In 2017, she and colleague Megan Twohey broke the story of decades of sexual abuse allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. That investigation helped ignite a worldwide reckoning and earned the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service, journalism's highest honor. Their book, She Said, became a New York Times bestseller and a 2022 feature film.

Her newest book, How to Start: Discovering Your Life's Work, grew out of her 2025 Commencement address at Columbia University. In it, she offers young people practical wisdom for building careers grounded in craft, human connection, and purpose, even when the world feels uncertain. Kantor has a special love for mentoring young people, and her message will resonate with students, families, and anyone navigating what comes next. Kantor offers a hopeful and practical counterpoint to anxiety about the future, reminding young people that even amid change, “you’re still the author of your own life.”
